Life has been slow around here lately.  I am a bit confused because it is May and the temperatures are still hovering in the 50s!  In FL it is already hitting the 90s!  The weather was starting to get into the 60s and was absolutely gorgeous.  Then the clouds set back in and it has been off and on rain for the past week.  Oh well.  At least all of the snow is gone, right?

I did a “race” on Saturday…well it was a fun run, but it was an organized event either way.  28:30 was the time and I was ok with that.  It was about a 9:30 pace, which is a definite improvement over most of my run times.  It was also not a hard-charging race, so it is nice to know that my “cruising speed” has dropped down from 10:00.  It was fun to be part of an organized event again and it has been hard to find something around here.  There are a couple of half marathons coming up at the end of the summer that I am shooting for.  By the way, I just finished week 1 of half marathon training.  Week 2 starts tomorrow!

With that being said, I am going to take a break from technology for a while at the end of the week.  Not only the blog, but also from email, cell phone, and the web in general.  I am bracing myself, but also looking forward to it.  I will tell you all about it once I get back from my little adventure.  And believe me it will be fun…

I will be posting before that time comes and hopefully I will be able to provide you with photos of actual food ;).

About OneVeganFoodie

Let's see. I am a certified personal trainer (CPT), group exercise instructor, nutritional counselor, and wellness counselor. My training background focuses mainly on getting overweight populations into shape, but I have worked with people wanting to gain strength/healthy weight and agility. I worked with the Army and the Marines for several years before settling into a civilian lifestyle. I'm still adjusting and I really miss it. I also enjoy coaching non-runners through their first running event. I post my workouts on here but remember that you need to seek medical advice prior to starting a new exercise regimine. I also love food. I've been vegetarian for 10 years and 4 of the last years I have been completely vegan. I love food and I love to cook. I follow a strict diet that I do not recommend for everyone, but I really enjoy as it keeps me healthy and helps me to know what is going into my body.
