no microwave meals today

One doctor’s appointment down, two more to go.  Today’s appointment wasn’t so terrible, tomorrow may be worse.  More on that later….
The workout today was pretty good.  Three mile run and then walking at an incline to round out 45 minutes followed by a leg workout:
3 sets of 15 reps leg press with 100 lbs
3 sets of 15 reps hip raises with 60 lbs
3 sets of 15 reps quad extention with 60 lbs
3 sets of 15 reps hamstring curls on ball
variety of ab exercises
Then I took Heinz on a 1 mile run.  He was not excited.  Bean was going to be taken on a half mile run, but it started thundering so he got out of it.  Of course, he is the fatest one too.  Bean is our obese purse dog.  I say this because he is clinically obese according to the vet and he should be able to fit in a purse if he didn’t weigh 25 lbs.  Gah.
Lunch finally did not come out of a microwave.  One secret that I have is to mix some natural no-sugar-added applesauce to a little nut butter and spread it on a sandwich.  Same idea as a PB and J except you are replaceing a lot of the sugar in the J with natural PB.  It actually works pretty well.  So I had an applesauce and PB open faced sandwich, carrots, hummus, and the remainder of the applesauce container.

Dinner was slightly less involved.  It was actually cereal :).  I love cereal.  Ezekiel sprouted grain cereal is my absolute favorite, but right now I’m enjoying the Kashi Blueberry cereal and the Oatmeal Squares. 

I did love that it is October and I laid out by the pool for a good 2 hours!  It was 92 degrees today and I loved every minute.   I am a warm weather girl, so this adjustment to Europe and having seasons, much less snow is going to be insane for me.  It was only recently that I actually purchased a coat.  That may be shocking to some, but I try and keep myself as close to a tropical climate as possible. 

Tomorrow I’m going to Whole Foods with a very good friend and I can’t wait.  I am a food nerd and I am ok with that.
